Tottenham to compete with top-four rivals for 27-year-old Championship star

Tottenham Hotspur are ready to battle it out with Premier League rivals for the signature of Wilfred Ndidi.

It has been an impressive season for Tottenham so far and they are looking to finish it in the best possible way by securing a place inside the top four. While the focus is on the job at hand, they have already started planning for the summer transfer window.

The North London club have identified Wilfred Ndidi as a potential target to bolster their midfield and according to a report by HITC, they are ready to battle it out with multiple top flight clubs to secure his services.

Ndidi has been an integral part of the Leicester City setup for years now. He joined the Foxes back in the winter of 2017 and has featured in over 250 matches for them. While he has struggled because of injuries, the 27-year-old defensive midfielder has shown his class when he is fit.

Usually known for his defensive work and his exceptional ability to win the ball back, Ndidi has 10 goal contributions this term as well.

The Foxes would love to hold on to him for years to come, but it is looking increasingly likely that Ndidi will leave as a free agent at the end of the season.

Multiple clubs keen on Wilfried Ndidi

With Pierre-Emile Højbjerg expected to leave at the end of the season, Spurs are looking at the 27-year-old as an ideal replacement. The likes of Aston Villa, Newcastle United, Brighton and Wolves are all closely monitoring his situation at Leicester City.

Even if the Foxes manage to gain promotion, Ndidi could still be on his way out. Tottenham are keen on signing him and they feel he could be a useful addition for them. It will be interesting to see if they can fend off the competition from their Premier League rivals.
