Geoffrey Moncada confirms Milan have reached an agreement to sign Filippo Terracciano from Hellas Verona, but reveals the Rossoneri won’t get a centre-forward in January.

Moncada spoke to Sky Sport Italia ahead of Milan’s first Serie A game of 2024 against Empoli at the Stadio Castellani.

“It’s a good moment; it was important to return to winning [in the previous game]. We have the energy of young players, and Ibra is helping, too. We are all working a lot,” he said, as quoted by Milannews.

Ibrahimovic is at Empoli and followed the Rossoneri’s warmup from the sidelines.

“He knows the club and many players and he’s won a lot. We can all learn from him. He is a smart guy and a great worker,” argued Moncada.

The Rossoneri chief scout is one of those in charge of transfers and confirmed the Rossoneri have reached an agreement with Hellas Verona to sign 20-year-old full-back Terracciano.

“We’ve been following him for two years, he is a defensive jolly,” said Moncada.

“He can play on the left, on the right and even as a central midfielder. He has played many games; he has good physicality, so we are happy.”

However, the Rossoneri won’t hold talks for a new striker this month, meaning they will no longer chase Stuttgart striker Serhou Guirassy who has been linked with a move to Manchester United.

“We have Giroud and Jovic who are our No.9s. They are doing well and scoring goals. We can’t always rely on the market. We must make the most of them,” insisted Moncada.

Nevertheless, the Rossoneri will try to get a new centre-back in the winter transfer window despite the return of Matteo Gabbia from his loan spell at Villarreal. Lilian Brassier is one of their targets, Moncada confirmed.

“We have also been following him for some time, I’ve known him for five years. He is an interesting player and he’s on our list, but we have no agreement with either him or Brest.”

Rade Krunic isn’t starting against Empoli and has fallen down Stefano Pioli’s pecking order. The Rossoneri still haven’t received an adequate offer for the 30-year-old who is wanted by Fenerbahce.

“He is a Milan player and, without an appropriate offer, he won’t leave,” Moncada concluded.
