Why Arizona Cardinals S Jalen Thompson deserves to be a Pro Bowler
Troy Taormina-USA TODAY Sports

As the 2023 NFL season is winding down, the 2024 Pro Bowl is nearing and the Arizona Cardinals are promoting who should be sent to Orlando for the special event’s festivities.

With a record of 3-10, the struggles of the overall team have overshadowed a few bright stars on the Cards’ roster.

While tight end Trey McBride is looking like the most-likely option from Arizona to head to the celebrations in Florida, there is another player who should receive recognition: full safety Jalen Thompson.

The five-year Cardinal has missed just two games out of 13 and started all 11 that he was available for selection this season.

Furthermore, Thompson has collected three interceptions, five passes defended, 62 tackles, one forced fumble and a sack.

With those interceptions, he is in a tie for third-most out of all safeties in the NFC Conference.

Lately, Thompson (ribs) has been dealing with a lingering injury, but has played.

Earlier in the season, he dealt with hamstring issue as well.

Regardless, Thompson has been one of the most impactful contributors of Cardinals defensive coordinator Nick Rallis’ arsenal.

Even though there are better options statically in his position like Minnesota Vikings’ Camryn Bynum, Washington Commanders’ Kameron Curl, New York Giants’ Xavier McKinney, etc., Thompson is a noteworthy safety that should be up for consideration for the Pro Bowl.
