'Got to change my focus,' Blake Snell ‘disappointed’ to land in 15-day IL following adductor strain amid regular season chaos

For now, the Giants will hold off filling his spot in the lineup and are expecting his return by May 4 for their game against the Philadelphia Phillies. The reigning NL CY Young winner suffered from an inner thigh injury during his latest bullpen session. He has dealt with the same injury twice before too.

He further talked about some adjustments he made for his pitch and how excited he was to pitch against the Mets and strategize his game plan. Unfortunately following his latest injury, Snell has “got to change my focus to get back healthy and get back to pitching.”

GM Bob Melvin opens up on Blake Snell’s injury and team lineup changes for future games

San Francisco Giants general manager Bob Melvin spoke about Blake Snell’s injury, noting it as “it hasn’t been our best day.” Snell’s absence was filled with Ryan Walker who played as an opener for the first time in 2024. However, his scoreless inning couldn’t hold on as fellow relievers failed to maintain the line.

The team fell to a 0-5 score during Snell’s absence this year from the rotation. Melvin talked about how April has never been a good month for him and wishes he could pitch better once he returns to the lineup.

Back in 2021 and 2022 Blake Snell was sidelined a month and later for three weeks due to adductor injury. Starting this year, he said he was feeling stronger, however, he got injured this month once again. As of now, his starting lineup is considered to be May 4, only if he does not have to remain on IL longer.
