LSU Football: RB John Emery Suffers Torn ACL, Out for the Season
USA TODAY Sports

LSU running back John Emery suffered a torn ACL on Saturday night against Florida, Brian Kelly revealed during Monday's press conference.

Emery, who returned to Baton Rouge for another season with the purple and gold, will miss the remainder of the year for the Tigers.

The initial worry was that Emery suffered a "fairly significant knee injury" after going down against the Gators. Now, after undergoing more testing, it's been clarified. Emery has suffered a torn ACL.

The Bayou Bengals have rotated in a myriad of running backs this year including Emery, Logan Diggs, Josh Williams, Kaleb Jackson and Noah Cain.

Diggs, who has taken over as LSU's RB1 this season, missed Saturday night with an upper-body injury, which prompted the Tigers to go deep into the rotation.

Kelly and Co. provided Emery, Williams and Cain with significant run against the Gators.

The Running Back Numbers:

Logan Diggs... 113 carries, 635 yards and six touchdowns.

Josh Williams... 34 carries for 210 yards and four touchdowns.

John Emery... 23 carries for 121 yards and one touchdown.

Now, the Tigers will fall back on a running back rotation of Diggs, Williams, Jackson and Noah Cain to carry the load in the backfield during the final two games of the season.

The Bayou Bengals will return to action on Saturday night in Tiger Stadium when the Georgia State Panthers make their way to town in another night game in Baton Rouge.
